ISRAEL UPDATE

January 27, 2002 - Every time there is a violent act carried out in Israel, the Islamic apologists are quick to defend these murderous deeds as justifiable.

This whole platform rests on two main pillars.  First, that the land has been “taken” from the Palestinians - which I have spent four years documenting in how this was and is not true.

Second, these acts are “justified”, because they are only expressions of an angry, frustrated people, due to the "peace process" not moving fast enough.

Ironic how the Palestinians have gotten more land and Autonomy through Israeli concessions than when their "Arab brothers" had control of them.

Solomon gave some very sage advice that the people under Yassir Arafat's leadership should embrace; "Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man thou shalt not go, lest thou learn his ways and get a snare to thy soul." Proverbs 22: 24,25.

The leadership of the Palestinians has shown moral and financial abuse, neglect, and insensitivity for the loss of life, as well as the financial suffering brought on by the current Intifadah (uprising).

If Native Americans were to begin blowing up buses and discos in the name of frustration and anger, would they be justified in this for actions carried out against them 200 to 300 years ago?

Israel has stopped land concessions and the peace process as a whole, due to the violence and aggression as Arafat continues to bloody Israel and the Palestinians.  So it is hard to grasp how an angry and frustrated leader will move in the right direction.

January 27, 2002 - We are told in Obadiah 15 "For the Day of the L-rd is near upon all the heathen; as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee, thy reward shall return upon thy head."

Although short in length, one cannot help but read this book and remember how so many of the Hebrew prophets were looking forward to this spiritual renewal and glory of the Messianic Kingdom.

The heathen, those who refuse to live G-dly lives, are now, and will continue to assail Israel in an attempt to destroy her.

As the "Day of the L-rd" approaches, it becomes necessary that we evaluate the current events that are unfolding worldwide - realizing two things will happen.  First, Jesus will return for his Church, and second, G-d's wrath will fall on upon the world and Israel will be exalted.

From Verse 17 to 21, Obadiah defines prophecy, not in his time, or in any time before now, but the events that will soon come to pass.

Deliverance, Jacob’s House taking rightful possession of their inheritance, enemies being subdued, and then the "Saviour shall come up to Mount Zion to judge the Mount of Esau, and the Kingdom shall be the L-rd's."

Some of these things happened in part in times past, but let us rest assured, Obadiah, like Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah and others, anticipated and saw the "Day of the L-rd" coming one day. How much more should we anticipate and watch for this soon coming day?
