ISRAEL UPDATEApril 21, 2002 – Chairman Arafat has supposedly signed a letter denouncing terrorism and is now calling for another cease-fire, since his compound has been invaded and he is “confined to quarters”.
Ironic, two years after the 1972 Olympic massacre in Munich, Arafat strode into the United Nations, pistol on hip, making a speech and receiving a standing ovation.
The years 1974 and 1975 were two of the most brutal years known to Israeli society – leaving the names Kiryat Shamona, Maalot, and the Savoy Hotel buried in our minds.
This same Arafat appeared in the same U.N. in 1981, declaring a need for peace, while he dug tunnels into Lebanon to attack Israel. At the time, he was training terrorists from 28 different countries and had more arms and ammunition than men to use them.
Chairman Arafat has now had almost nine years of Oslo, seventeen months of Intifadah (uprising) – which I call a war of attrition – and what is the sum total of all this?
Broken promises… Riots… Dead and wounded… And the nations of the world taking sides ready to explode into a full-scale war. AGAIN, he calls for a cease-fire. What a debacle!
If you trace the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, you will find that when Arab armies or Palestinian terrorists are desperate or “on the ropes”, they ask for a cease-fire. This is similar to a “timeout”, for all you sports fans out there.
So the question is… Chairman Arafat and all who support you - why not stop all of this violence before you are cut off and surrounded – and work for real peace – not a chance to reload.
April 21, 2002 - I have had people ask me if there is a direct link of prophecy to the terrorist atrocities that have escalated so much this past 30 years.
To that question I will emphatically answer yes, and also state that they are a tool, being very well used at this point, to start a huge war. The following is my reasoning, based on Holy Scripture.
First, Arafat and company have trained terrorists from nearly every continent. According to Ezekiel 38 and 39, a host from Russia and Turkey – countries that have an abundance of fundamentalist Muslims, will invade Israel.
Second, Through Arafat, the terrorist operations in Israel are causing much upheaval and disruption., thereby helping prepare the way for the Antichrist and the false treaty of Daniel 9:24-27.
Third, while the Palestinian terrorists have claimed to be poor, the oil wealth of the OPEC nations has allowed them to build an incredible arsenal, while propaganda turns the world against Israel.
Finally, both Europe and Africa figure prominently in prophecy, and the nations that supply oil, such as Libya, along with the ten-ruler system of Europe, are entrenched in Islamic belief, having many terrorist cells within their borders.
While many nations will arise to attack Israel according to Joel 3, Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12-14, Matthew 24, and Luke 21, as well as many others. So we can rest in our Eternal G-d’s Word that He is in control.
