ISRAEL UPDATEJune 29, 2003 - I will not apologize for writing so many articles on the abortive attempt at peace called the Road Map. And I will continue to speak out against it - when world leaders by their own words show their contempt for the nation of Israel and G-d's word.
A report released May 31, 2003 states that the Palestinians will not accept any changes to the plan – probably because they have been assured by our President there will be no changes.
Why is this so distressing to me as a Christian believer and American citizen? Simply because it places control of Israel's destiny in the hands of her avowed enemies - the C.I.S., the European Union, and the United Nations.
They say their goal is to achieve peace through a two-state scenario, yet for the past 10 years all of the concessions for peace have been made by the Israelis, not the Palestinians.
How do we bring together two separate sets of ideals, religious beliefs, and motivations - when there is no balance and the shift of power goes to one group?
The concessions at this point have cost Israel vital strategic geographical areas, a huge financial deficit from battling terrorism and the Intifadah, and at this point in time nearly 800 dead and more than 5400 wounded.
After all of this, the Quartet would like you to believe that “all is quiet on the Eastern Front”. But rest assured… the side refusing to accept any change in the current peace plan is only re-arming and re-grouping for the next violent wave of terror… as the world continues to divide G-d's covenant land for their own purposes.
June 29, 2003 – Recently, one of our local newspapers ran a front-page story about a prominent religious leader in the community, who stands accused of covering up sex scandals within his denomination.
This group has been plagued by these types of rumors along with several substantiated cases, for the past several years. This has caused animosity and hate to the point where some individuals have threatened physical harm to those involved.
My intent is not to take issue with this group, but to point to a dangerous dynamic within the ranks of Christendom.
In Arizona, we read of one religious group that bilked investors out of huge sums of money, leaving those who trusted the system financially destitute.
Other reports have been released about clergymen who have had torrid love affairs outside of wedlock, or other sexual indiscretions – while they have been counseling, or otherwise working directly with their own employees.
Every time a man of G-d fails morally or financially, it brings more and more distrust and disgrace to the Kingdom of G-d.
But an unseen force is moving in these events that is frightening - people are taking their eyes off G-d and instead they are focusing on man-made charters and bylaws.
In a nutshell, while the religious system as a whole continues to fail and people lose trust in the political system - we see the stage being set for the coming son of perdition, the Anti-Christ. Sadly, it can be said that this trend tells how close we are to our L-rd’s Return. Let us look to Christ, and not for the Anti-Christ. . .
