ISRAEL UPDATE

May 16, 2004 - Scottish engineers have developed a computer they claim can exceed human thought and reasoning in some instances.  In fact (by their reasoning), it can solve nearly any problem and answer any question.

All of this hinges on two key elements - philosophy and artificial intelligence - both of which will not line up with G-d's word.

Philosophy too often becomes man's rationalization of who G-d is, how they should approach Him, and how they should conduct their lives.

Artificial intelligence, while very useful in many ways, does not have a heart and mind regenerated by G-d's word and Spirit.

Posing a question to a machine built on these pillars will undoubtedly produce an answer in a quick, timely manner, but it will no doubt be a “convenient” one.

For instance, Israel and the Palestinians, now occupying the same area, fighting and dying, both lay claims to the land through ancestry.

Modern-day artificial intelligence says divide the land equally and let both sides live together in peace.

Yet the struggles between the British and the Irish, Indians and Pakistanis, the Balkan States Crisis and Azeri-Armenian War have proven this thought process futile.

G-d's word will be the ultimate definition if of who inhabits that embattled piece of geography.  The problem lies not in Israel's existence, but rather in man's philosophy trying to alter that plan.

May 16, 2004 - Are miracles a true sign of what G-d is doing in these Last Days, or is this just some kind of strange phenomenon, or a chain reaction?

Today, the trend is to focus on mass meetings where hundreds of thousands gather to hear the healing message and supposedly, there are thousands of miracles.

But - a word of caution to those that are so easily impressed by large crowds and glowing reports of these Crusades. . .

Moses faced the magicians of Pharaoh's court and they could duplicate most of what the he did… The Chaldeans of Nebuchadnezzar's time could also do some fortune telling and divining.

Jesus told his followers to watch out for those that did lots of casting demons out and miracles in His name, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23

This is not written to cast suspicion on televangelists, but rather to implore the church as whole to try the spirits to see if they are of G-d.  John 4:1

The great move of the spirit in the Book of Acts started with believers that tarried in unity waiting to receive power from on high.  They then boldly preached the Gospel, and while miracles are found throughout the Book of Acts, the true essence is the preaching of the Gospel.

The Apostles were not told to quit performing miracles; they were commanded not to preach in His (Jesus) name.  This opposition came from the world at large, but that also is what changed the world – as miracles followed.
