ISRAEL UPDATE

May 30, 2004 - We have seen the pictures of prisoner abuse in Iraq, and everyone seems to have an opinion about it.  However, can anyone explain why the Red Cross was aware of this as early as last October, yet it did not become public knowledge until now?

Should we be ashamed as Americans about this type of activity?  Absolutely!  Should our leadership deal with these people at all levels - for either ordering this type of behavior, or carrying out the orders?  Again, the answer is absolutely yes!

Research of prison camps used during the Civil War led to one clear-cut revelation.  Both sides, North and South, were abusive and neglectful to their prisoners - many times torturing them, and in several cases committing murder.

One would be hard pressed to say this behavior in Iraq is the mindset of the most of our citizens, as it is certainly not the policy of our government.

Not very many weeks ago, the media showed us the mutilated corpses of civilian workers being drug through the streets.  We have endured Nicholas Berg decapitated live on video, Daniel Pearl brutally murdered, planes slamming into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, United States embassies and Marine barracks destroyed by bombs, and ships destroyed by missile attacks or suicide bombers.

The last two decades have shown us the U.S. is vulnerable prey, being disrespected, violated, and humiliated by people not of one nation, but several.  The common thread binding them together is Islam.  What our troops did in frustration was not right, but it does not hold a candle to what Islamic forces perpetrate on American or Israeli soldiers and civilians alike. . .  Where is the media coverage about that?

May 30, 2004 - Many people, including this author, enjoy studying history, comparing the past to the presence, and to the future - just to observe how much things do not change, yet they do change.

One sad aspect of our nation's history is that we have allowed many historical sites to become run down, or even destroyed - since they seem to be out of date and non relevant.

So now, as politicians and private groups scramble to raise money, instituting pleas for volunteers to assist in the restoration of America's past, we can only hope they will be successful.

Nevertheless, there is a movement in this same United States of America that is taking our history - rewriting it - doing its best to eliminate every trace of Christianity.

Take notice of the trends in this country this past four decades, as we have removed prayer and Bible reading from the public schools, as well as the Ten Commandments from the courthouses.

Our nation can allow the usage of the name of G-d in movies, songs, and in decrees of solidarity groups, yet we want the phraseology of G-d in our Pledge of Allegiance, and on our money also, completely out of the picture.

If we do not restore famous houses, ships, battlefields, and other forms of U.S. history, we will have lost some visual links to our past.

The more we remove G-d from our society, the further it sinks into debauchery and decay, constantly declining on an ever-increasing scale.  Save the building, but remove G-d. . .  At this rate, nothing will be left of our nation that we love - physical or spiritual…
