ISRAEL UPDATEAugust 8, 2004 - We are now just a few days away from the XXVII Olympic Games to be held in Athens, Greece. No doubt, you have seen the media reports about the fear of terrorist attacks, with those same reports questioning if security is adequate.
How ironic that Greece would seek the advice of the Israeli government on how to properly beef up security and protect all the parties involved.
The Greek Orthodox Church has produced not only one of the most anti-Semitic policies of any religious body, but some of their bishops have earned the dubious distinction of being more than just PLO collaborators, but confidants as well.
It was 28 years ago this past July 27, when a contingent of Germans and Palestinians hijacked Air France flight 139 from Athens due to its lax airport security, thereby creating the scenario for the Entebbe rescue.
Greece as a nation has been less than kind to Israel through United Nations voting and policies that are PLO friendly. . . they have made their stand in the world very clear.
Nevertheless, with all the criticism of Israel, railing against her, and unfriendly policies - Greece, like many nations, called on the Jewish state in time of need - especially regarding terrorism. It is tragic that the media monster as a whole spends its time criticizing Israel and condemning her policies, rather than reporting truthful facts.
If anyone desires to see safe Olympic Games, it would be Israel…after their experience of the 1972 Munich massacre - hopefully with their help a possible repeat can be avoided. It is just ironic that the nations that helped create this monster constantly ask the victim for help, what a strange world we live in….
August 8, 2004 - Anti Semitism found its way into the Church, as early as the third century, and from there became a legacy of hatred, rape, pillage, murder, property seizure, and expulsion.
The world copied the Church and unfortunately expanded on the theme with the use of boycotts, sanctions, embargoes, propaganda, political manipulation, and media bias.
With all that has happened and continues to transpire, it is amazing that Israel still lives. . . in fact she thrives.
Israel is surrounded by multiple millions of people that seek to destroy her in any way possible, including the accumulation of biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons. . . yet this tiny nation still survives.
Oil wealth, the European Common Market, and United Nations sanctions, have made Israel feel the pinch - but still she is intact.
The recent rash of terrorism has severely crippled her economy, yet she forges ahead and is a leader in medicine, technology, and the arts.
There was a prophetic utterance given that speaks out this truth… found in Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the L-RD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the L-RD.”
All of these weapons previously mentioned have been formed and fashioned, and have done some damage, but they have not prospered nor succeeded. They will not, for G-d's promises to Israel are true and still in place, regardless of Satan's weapons. . .
