ISRAEL UPDATE

September 26, 2004 - There is a very soothing style of commercial currently aired on various Phoenix radio stations that is designed to comfort the people of America.

The voice on these commercials is a very distinguished baritone, apparently from the United Kingdom, who is very articulate and suave in his presentation.

Listening to it, you might be convinced there are other nations in the world that are actively pursuing Al Qaeda terrorists.

This commercial goes on to vividly document how a particular nation has actually captured some of Osama bin Laden’s operatives - although this was done in secret, rather than being exposed to the world through the media.

However, the nation promoting this commercial is Saudi Arabia.  This spot on the airwaves tells us they are a friend to our country.

Although Saudi Arabia has waged a few actions against Al Qaeda, it still pours billions of dollars into the war chests of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and all of Mr. Arafat's splinter groups.

This is the same nation, that through their support of the above mentioned terror groups, has not only cost hundreds of Israeli lives, while wounding thousands of others – has destabilized the entire peace process where America has such a deeply vested interest.

Apparently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while boasting its friendship to America, is supporting the enemies of America and Israel.  They pay the families of suicide bombers, disrupt the peace process, and use propaganda attempting to convince those of us in the U.S. to feel safe and secure….

September 26, 2004 - The closing chapter of Lamentations starts out with a cry for help, “Remember, O L-RD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.”  Chapter 5:1

Verses 2-10 describe basic necessities, such as water and firewood, which had to be purchased from their captors.  Have we seen America ever so dependent on outside sources?

Verses 11-12 tells of the women ravaged and leaders hanged up by their hands after execution.  One cannot help but see the torture, mutilation, and murder of our citizens and soldiers in Iraq, both male and female.

Verse 16 describes the fallen crown, i.e., the lost glory of Judah.  Today, do our “mandates make tyranny tremble when borne by the red, white, and blue,” or do these evil men and terrorists run wild without inhibition?

Verse 18 describes the desolation of the glorious Mount Zion (once trod upon by the priests and prophets), now inhabited only by foxes.  Let us not forget the ridicule of the Twin Towers, or the destruction to the Pentagon!

Lamentations, like Malachi, ends on a negative note… so when publicly read, verse 21 was repeated again after verse 22.

There is hope for America, if she will return to G-d.  However, if not, we Americans will only be able to sit and weep, asking G-d to remember what happened.

With prayer, the trend will reverse, and people will serve G-d.  Only then will America return to its former greatness - if not, the future is bleak indeed…

To be continued . . .
