ISRAEL UPDATEOctober 31, 2004 – Years ago, it was fascinating to watch the rockets of the Apollo space program launch heavenward.
As the control tower declared, “we have liftoff,” millions of people could see the ignition of rocket fuel forming into a massive, brilliant, controlled detonation that would send the multi-ton vessel skyward.
From a distance, a person could see the walkway from tower to rocket fall away as the vessel began its flight - slipping the grip of Earth's gravity. As the great vessel traveled further into space, we could watch stage after stage break away, further lightening the load - until all that was left was the capsule itself - the instrument of the mission.
The nation of Israel can be compared with this analogy as she advances and continues to climb to her ultimate achievement… spiritual and national redemption. . . that soon will take place.
Although very secular now, as the sovereign plan of G-d continues to unfold, Israel is in many ways starting to have her eyes opened to G-d's love and His plan.
Just as the Apollo spacecraft would parachute to the safety of the sea, so shall this nation pass through the fiery trials of affliction. However, one day this tiny nation will rest secure with safe and permanent borders. There will be no more persecution, as her citizens enjoy all that G-d has for them. Amen.
October 31, 2004 - Up until the election on November 2, the intensity and amount of promises will continue to be made to the voting populace of America, as people, parties, and the media try to sell their candidate.
Whether it was where they were born, how they were raised, where they went to college, or served in the military, it matters not. . .
The only sure foundation for a candidate's platform can and has to be the Holy Scripture. They must hold to the belief that the Bible is the sole reference point, providing guidelines of how nations should be governed and conduct their policies.
It is not what public opinion is at the moment… as that can change like the wind. Nor is it the current trends, cultural bias, or geographical relevance or location.
For example, between 1964 and 1990, $138 billion was spent on the “New Society,” or what others would call “the Urban Renewal.”
Yet after all the feverish interest, our nation's major cities are overrun with crime - such as murder, rape, assault, illegal drugs, and prostitution.
The more that man-made concepts and philosophies are used to correct the ills of society, the deeper our nation slides into the pit of moral decay, joblessness, and financial crises.
It is not an issue of Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, or hawk vs. dove. If neither Democrats or Republicans hold to the Holy Scripture, living and acting upon its principles, it will be impossible to bring G-d's blessing back to this country.
To be continued . . .
