ISRAEL UPDATENovember 21, 2004 – When Franklin D. Roosevelt was President of the United States he tried his best to create a utopian society.
He believed that everyone was entitled to four freedoms, and that all should have them without consideration.
The first was freedom of speech and expression. The second was freedom for an individual to worship G-d in their own way. The third was freedom from want, while the fourth was freedom from fear. He envisioned all of these freedoms as being everywhere and anywhere in the world.
Obviously, much has transpired in this cold, cruel world over the last six decades. The former President would likely be shocked as the vast majority of events have lessened freedom for everyone on this planet.
Roosevelt’s aspirations transcended most of the threat of world domination by the Axis powers, especially those of the Nazis.
He collaborated with the Communists against Germany, Italy and Japan because he did not perceive that the Iron Curtain would be a serious oppressor of human rights wherever they went.
Without a doubt, it was impossible for Mr. Roosevelt to foresee the burgeoning Islamic forces looming on the horizon. These forces are not godless Communism, but rather more like a combination of Axis powers / Communistic mentality rolled up into a religious fervor “package.”
The four beliefs of Roosevelt are to be desired, but not within the confines or control of Islam. What a transition… Roosevelt’s Pearl Harbor to Bush’s 9-11… The world now faces a greater threat as it tolerates Islam much more than the world tolerated the Axis powers of World War II.
November 21, 2004 – It is intriguing to listen to those that say that all or most of biblical prophecy was fulfilled with the destruction of the Jewish temple in 70 C.E.
They cite passages such as Matthew 24:5, where Jesus warns us that false christs would arise and deceive many. These people say that this pattern of heretical deceivers was only relevant to that specific period of time – because Christ warned His followers.
The Jewish historian Josephus wrote, “In Judea, matters were constantly going from bad to worse, for the country was infested with hordes of brigands and imposters who deceived the mob. Moreover, the imposters and deceivers called upon the mob to follow them into the desert, for they would show them marvels and signs that would be in harmony with G-d’s design.” Antiquities 20:5:5, 6
At this point, several questions beg asking. First, do we see a mob mentality even within the Church following those that deceive in the name of whoever is “flavor of the moment”? Obviously and sadly, the answer is yes…
Second, since we see a pattern such as this developing in the Church, as well as the world, would it make the warning of Jesus any less relevant for today? The answer is a resounding no…
Finally, is His warning only for “this generation” of Jesus’ day and all prophecy has been fulfilled? Then why do we see the pattern not only recurring, but also actually increasing at such a rapid rate?
Both Church and world history have shown the destruction that follows on the heels of these types of events. Our current generation is no different, except the upcoming events due to be ushered in because of today’s pattern is the Great Tribulation – G-d’s final judgment upon mankind…
To be continued…
