ISRAEL UPDATEApril 10, 2005 - In October of 1939, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill used terms such as “an enigma” and “shrouded in mystery” to describe the Soviet Union. He further stated that he did not truly know what their intentions were.
History shows us that the Soviet Union has done all things for one purpose - to enhance their national interest.
At the end of April of this year, Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, will be traveling to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Is it is no secret that Russia has been indirectly supplying Palestinian terrorist groups with arms, and is renewing ties with Syria, Iran, and China, flaunting their relationships with these nations.
It is against this backdrop we see American policy makers, and their Russian counterparts, as part of the Road Map peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians.
However, this scenario is but one small part of the larger prophetic picture, as we remember the words of Ezekiel, “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.” Ezekiel 38:4
Mr. Churchill may not have known Russia's intentions, but through the Scriptures we know and realize G-d's prophetic timetable is right on target…
April 10, 2005 - She was bedridden for more than 15 years in a coma, and the loved ones battle to keep her alive was lost to her husband's wishes. The feeding tube was for removed, and this helpless woman died. This might sound like the Terri Schiavo case, but actually, the woman's name was Ineke Stinissen. This unfortunate incident transpired in the Netherlands in 1990.
In the year 2002, the Netherlands became the first country to permit doctors to perform euthanasia. By 2003, the Health Ministry reported 1,815 cases. However, who knows how many cases were not reported?
The Schiavo case is not an isolated one-time event - as many would have you believe. Just like the Netherlands, the mentality of America has now decided that we choose who dies, and who does not.
Proponents of abortion wanted to legalize this heinous act in the name of selfish, personal choice, because there were too many “back alley” abortions.
The Netherlands (Holland) will never be able to verify how many acts of euthanasia occur, nor will the United States for that matter…
Whether it is crushing a baby's head in the womb, or removing the feeding tube from a middle-aged woman… people now are arbitrarily deciding who lives and who dies. What classification is next… perhaps Dementia and Alzheimer's, or the very aged? Our society is heading down an unsettling, frightening path.
Surely, our L-rd G-d is displeased and angered. This is but one more step toward His judgment, if we as a nation do not repent.
