ISRAEL UPDATEMay 29, 2005 - Supposedly one of the greatest determinations that distinguish liberal and conservative politics is how money is attained, and then appropriated.
You have heard it said that politicians are “tax and spend liberals.” This means they believe in raising taxes, then throwing money at problems – trying to solve them.
If this is the case, then our political parties, both Democrat and Republican, are tax and spend liberals…
For instance, the amount of money thrown at the feet of the butchers of Palestinian nationalism is staggering, given the lack of results…
Considering the massive amounts of money given to the cause of Palestinian nationalism by Presidents Clinton and Bush, the European Union, the National Council of Churches, and others… what has been accomplished? There has been no return on investment…
We have replaced a fatigue-clad terrorist with a well-dressed terrorist… We have no formal agreement between all the terror groups to lay down their arms and live in peace with Israel… There have been land concessions made by the Israelis, yet the mortar attacks from orchards, bus bombings, and other atrocities have not stopped, nor is there any real indication they will.
If non-profit organizations or investment companies would continually waste and “fritter” away multiple millions of dollars, those in charge would be removed from office or replaced. Most likely, legal action would also be taken and corporations restructured. However, in the case of Israel, everyone pats himself or herself on the back, boasting of progress in the peace process…
May 29, 2005 - Another principle in relation to eschatology found in Genesis is the parallel of Noah’s salvation during the flood - then the opportunity to start afresh.
We see throughout the scriptures many references about the nation of Israel going through the Tribulation and the remnant preserved.
The Genesis account of the flood details G-d's total destruction of the world. The flood was designed to purge the world of its wickedness, except for a certain group of people.
“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the L-RD.” (Genesis 6:8) In this passage, we see the parallel to Israel's future.
G-d has designated this principle to show us the time of Tribulation, i.e., the time of Jacob's trouble. The horrific time has never before been seen, nor after, and that will purify His chosen nation, preserving the remnant to rule and reign in Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.
While many theological “heads” seek to remove the Tribulation, or say that it has already transpired, Noah's family shows us G-d's long-range plan.
Enoch clearly shows us the Church rapture beforehand receiving its reward, while Noah shows us the faithful remnant being spared while all else is destroyed.
As far back as the Book of Genesis, G-d was showing parallel lessons of the Rapture of the Church and the preservation of his elect after the Great Tribulation. Once again, we can rest in G-d's plan!
To be continued…
