ISRAEL UPDATEJune 26, 2005 – One of the main “selling points” of the Palestinian cause is the plight of refuges as they fled Israel at the urging of their own leaders.
Of course, very little is mentioned about the nations of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt that turned them away – or caused them to live in the squalor of the deplorable refuge camps.
However, even less have ever talked about the forced ??? of Jews living in Arab nations… who were required to leave their homes and businesses because the Jewish leadership told them?
No… these people were given deadlines to leave the Arab countries where they lived by the Arab leadership. They were in fact expelled – because the Arabs were angry over their humiliating defeat at the hands of the Israelis in the War of Independence.
So, in essence the refuge problem concerning the Palestinians is a very close parallel to the Jewish refuge problem some years ago.
The Arab nations that have been unwilling to treat the Palestinians fairly, were no kinder to the Jews. Today, the push for Palestinian statehood has passed right on by… what happened to the Jews of the same time?
In reality, the issue of refuges is a dilemma for both the Palestinians and the Israelis. However, the creators of the problem, i.e., the Arab nations, have yet to accept responsibility in either case…
June 26, 2005 – To this day, one of the controversial topics of theology is the question of the Law being relevant or eradicated.
In today’s world, many still confuse the issue - not understanding the concept of G-d’s Law - which in actuality is His Word.
During Jesus’ entire earthly ministry, He was constantly challenged by religious zealots, who tried to use the observance of the Law against Him. As we know, He turned it right back on them…
If you were to take notice… in all of these confrontations, Jesus did not negate the Law or its use, but rather through the light of the Holy Spirit, to illuminate the Law and apply it correctly.
While these instances are too numerous to mention in this short article, you can easily reference this concept and see it carried over by the Apostle Paul.
Acts 21:20 tells us “And when they heard [it], they glorified the L-rd, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:”
Obviously, there can be zealous practices in a believer’s life without bondage. Jesus and Paul knew and understood that the Word (Law) without grace and the Holy Spirit is bondage. The Torah in any religious practice brings bondage – not the message of Jesus or Paul…
