ISRAEL UPDATE

September 4, 2005 – There were tidings from Phillistia, Goliath of Gath and all his cohorts had assembled in the Valley of Elab to challenge the army of Israel and defy the one true living G-d.

We read the account in I Samuel 17.  We know that even with massive physical size, an incredible array of weapons and psychological advantages the massive man and all his followers were soundly defeated.

Fast forward to August 2005 and again you will hear tidings from Gaza since the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza as Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders are boasting victory and setting their sights on Jerusalem.

Right now these murderous, bloodthirsty terrorists have gained a psychological advantage and are, with the help of the oil rich nations and others, are armed to the teeth with modern weaponry.

And yet this group, like Goliath and company, shakes their fists at the House of David, yet they defy the one true G-d, the very G-d that established His covenant with Israel.

True, the weaponry of today is far more modern but the principles are the same, the mentality is identical and rest assured the results will be the same.

The same G-d that empowered the shepherd boy from Bethlehem to defeat the giant will bring down all these forces thus Israel this time will be preserved for eternity.

September 4, 2005 – With so much new revelation and material that are so readily available today in Christianity, how do we know what is right?

There are a couple of keys to examine: First - Does what you are learning make you a better Pastor, church worker, spouse, parent, employee or volunteer?

Next – Does the information presented to me come as the whole counsel of G-d that is part of a balanced approach to the study of G-d’s word?

Then we must ask – Does it truly enlighten the body of Christ or does it bring confusion or distract people from the important truths of the scriptures?

When we read the Apostle Paul’s words we see what is relevant, “And are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.”  Eph. 2:20

There is a lot of “new revelation” out there today which has found a new Mount Sinai, states Jesus was married and had children, that Jesus was actually of the tribe of Levi, there is more than one author of Isaiah, and the list goes on.

The essence of Bible Doctrine came from the prophets first then the Apostles both groups being connected to Jesus thru the Holy Spirit.

Heresy always comes riding on the heels of truth, so ask yourself, is what I’m learning glorifying G-d and building the body?  If not, forget it.
