ISRAEL UPDATENovember 6, 2005 – World War I, the war to end all wars, saw the innovation of new weaponry used in warfare, the field machine gun, the airplane, tank, and chemical weapons, even armor piercing bullets.
World War II ended with what was deemed the most horrific of all weapons, the nuclear bomb.
First the U.S. and Russia stockpiled huge atomic arsenals but now India, Pakistan and France all have at least 50 to 100 such weapons, but what about North Korea’s supposed 6 to 8, or who knows all the rogue nations of a divided Russia that have X amount of such weapons.
During the Cold War people were so pre occupied by the huge arsenals of the U.S.S.R. and America but it would only take one to trigger a worldwide conflagration.
The Bible describes both conventional and an assortment of other horrific weapons that will cause the earth’s destruction. “But the day of the L-rd will come as a thief in the night: in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with a fervent heat and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” II Peter 3:10
One atomic bomb, one hundred, or even a thousand is not the issue, the issue is this world will be judged, so we all need to be ready and laboring for the L-rd, fearing G-d’s judgments not man’s implements of war.
November 6, 2005 – America enjoyed a friendly relationship with Iran for a while at least during the reign of Shah Mohamed Reza Palvi. However the Shah informed the President Jimmy Carter that the relationship stood in jeopardy when it came to the city of Jerusalem.
Not long after that the fundamentalist element of Islam replaced the pro western government and deposed the Shah. Of course nearly three decades later the U.S. Government is counting on the “pro western” nation of Pakistan to be a loyal friend.
However, while the government of Pakistan is friendly toward the United States there are two factions to be considered.
First there is a groundswell of fundamentalist Islamic activity in the populace much like Iran and second, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has already told many Jewish leaders how Israel should conduct itself regarding their withdrawal from specific areas and their treatment of the Palestinian State.
The United States, Britain and the rest of the western world is literally and figuratively being brought to the valley of decision first with Israel proper and Jerusalem specifically.
Perhaps friendly now but the tidal wave of both political and religious pressure is going to come against Israel and those that are their allies, and with that all are going to have to make the decision who we will obey, G-d or man.
