ISRAEL UPDATE

November 13, 2005 – The bomb blast that killed 57 and wounded 115 in Jordan this past week is but one more wake up call to the world.

Even before his ascension to the throne Abdullah II was noted as being very sympathetic to the cause of the Palestinians, the terror groups promoting a Palestinian State, in all less loyal to the west than his predecessor King Hussein.

Al Qaeda the ultra fundamentalist group being blamed for the atrocities is supposedly angry about Jordan’s friendly ties to nations like America and Britain.

If you have followed these articles for any amount of time, it has been continually reiterated over and over again that moderate Muslim nations and people will be forced into a fundamentalist stance or else.

The media in general has continually bypassed this concept for years, but as events like this continue to unfold, eventually the truth will come out.

It also should be said that Jordan has been in friendly relations with Israel longer than most nations in the region.

So now, as Abdullah II sits on the throne of Jordan he will be forced like every nation and leader of the world to decide how he will treat Israel.  Sadly, the terror tactics will push most in the wrong direction, thus Israel continues to live in jeopardy with politics deciding her fate.

November 13, 2005 - More than one Bible commentator has called the Book of Zechariah the most eschatological of the prophetic books.  Within the fourteen chapters we see, feel and hear the words of G-d not only pleading to His people to reform but also to be encouraged as His heart was still with them.

Zachariah 1:17 states, “Cry yet saying, Thus saith the L-rd of Hosts, My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the L-rd shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.”

In a world where the European Union boycotts products made in “occupied territories”, Protestant Denominations divesting themselves financially from Israel and the on again off again war of attrition that destroys the tourism trade, isn’t it nice to know G-d has other plans.

Again, in an age of Israel’s shrinking of borders due to religious and political pressure how awesome for G-d to speak above the noise and clamor that Israel’s cities will be spread out not drawn in.

Finally, as the world continues to push for a divided capital (Jerusalem) and for the Jews again to concede, He promises He shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Zechariah’s prophecy tells the Israeli nation one distinct thing amongst all the specific prophecies “Listen there is hope.”  Rome, London, Washington, Damascus or Tehran, it matters not, G-d’s word and promise is to His nation and He will hasten His word to perform it.
