ISRAEL UPDATE
February 5, 2006 – The Islamic extremist group Hamas now controls thirty-seven seats of the newly formed Palestinian Parliament. Hamas is actually an Arabic acronym for Islamic Resistance Movement formed in 1988 as an offshoot of the Egyptian based Muslim Brotherhood Movement.
If you were to read its founding charter, it very graphically and unequivocally details the Hamas intention of eradicating the State of Israel and replacing it with a Palestinian Islamic regime. The deceased Yassir Arafat’s Fatah leadership that has been plagued with corruption even under Mahmoud Abbas is even further destabilized with the Hamas victory.
Watching all of this unfold and knowing that the Hamas heart of operation is Gaza, one can’t help but wonder what world leaders could expect out of an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza other than complete disaster.
It was declared in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” and while this relates to G-d’s code of conduct for His people, consider this next statement. Israel as a nation comes closer to being destroyed with every inch of land conceded, thus strengthening her enemies and with Hamas gaining a majority of seats in the newly formed Parliament we are truly closer to Armageddon than most realize or want to admit!
February 5, 2006 – Reading Revelation 19:11-16 we notice there are many names applied to Jesus as He rides a white horse returning to earth to deal with the sinful, rebellious world. In verse 11 He is called faithful and true as He executes judgment and makes war. Then in verse 12 there is a name given Him that no man knows except Christ Himself, thus there is always that part of G-d that remains a mystery.
However, in verse 13 He is called “the word of G-d” establishing that Jesus is the one that was that is and is to come.
Finally, verse 16 calls Christ “King of Kings and L-rd of L-rds” and after all of Satan’s hordes are destroyed Jesus will reign with the title given Him in this passage for all eternity.
By reviewing this passage, think of the supreme confidence the believer has in G-d’s plan because Jesus has been faithful and true and there is a part that makes Him G-d, the part we will never be separated from.
He was the word that became flesh and dwelt among us for deliverance of sin, the ultimately we will see His supreme reign.
In just five verses John the Revelator is shown the total manifestation of Christ’s ministry and confirms that the scriptures are true from beginning to end.
As we continue to labor in His vineyard let us look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, pray he comes quickly to redeem us, amen.
To be continued…
