ISRAEL UPDATE

February 26, 2006 – It appears that the Danish newspaper caricature depicting the Islamic prophet Mohammed with a bomb coming out of his head is not going to go away.  Since this incident, two of the primary targets of Islamic wrath have been the German Embassy in Beirut and a Danish mission.

Of course, the Muslim apologists have done their best to denounce the notion that Islam is a violent religion but rather one of love and tolerance.  However, these attacks prove the contrary since their targets were completely unassociated with the incident that angered these followers of Mohammed.

If you were able to view my personal video library, you would see literally hours of documentation on the violent tenancies of Islam.

Children, having dagger in one hand and the Koran in the other, are boasting of how they were willing to spill their own blood for the liberation of their homeland.  Parents of the children display joy over their children dying for “the cause”.  The leaders of terror groups ask for children to be martyred for “the cause.”

If the persecution and murder of Catholics on the island of Timon, Christians in the Sudan and Indonesia, suppression of Christianity in nations such as Saudi Arabia or the horrors of September 11th indicate tolerance and love, obviously I have missed it.

Call it what you will, describe it as you may, but the wrath of Islam being manifested around the world especially against Christianity is neither loving nor tolerant.

February 26, 2006 – The prophet asked a rhetorical question to the Jews returning to Israel, “Your fathers, where are they, and prophets, do they live for ever?”  Zech. 1:5

Prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel boldly declared G-d’s word in the face of death and persecution even when rejected by the people.

As the Holy Spirit spoke through the prophet Zechariah his question really was an answer, the fathers that were the previous generation were dead after rejecting G-d’s word.

Again, those Holy Spirit inspired prophets, godly as they were mortals nonetheless and were dead as well.  However, Yahweh, the self-existent, eternal one, had spoken His word and though the prophets and scoffers were both gone His word was relevant and came to pass and still is even to this day.

This underlying principle was reiterated to modern day believers in the words of Jesus, “And I say also unto thee that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.”  Matt. 16:18.

Scoffers come and go, cynics raise their voice against the church, and many seek to undermine it, in every way but just like Zechariah’s scenario of old, G-d’s word has stood the test of time for both Israel and the church.  What He has spoken, He will bring it to pass.
