ISRAEL UPDATE

March 26, 2006 – When mainstream Muslims told Australian Prime Minister Howard they wanted to live under Sharia law he stated, “Move to a country that accepts Islamic law.”   In fact, Howard basically stated if Australian values did not suit them, they could find the nearest exit door and high tail it out of the country.

While it took courage to make this bold move it will take even greater courage for this nation to stand up against the upcoming onslaught of verbal denunciation, condemnation, boycotts and the reality of retaliation.

Islamic Sharia law is not know for its love or tolerance of other religious groups nor other religious parties

Further, it is demeaning to women and all one needs to do is look at any nation under the yoke of Sharia law and see why Prime Minister Howard is less than excited about the practice of this system in his country.

Of course, the first objective coming from the Muslim apologists will be the statement that this religion is misunderstood and these believers are being persecuted for their religious beliefs.

Truthfully, whenever strict Islamic law, whether it be Wahabi fundamentalism of Saudi Arabia Shi ite fundamentalism of Iran or whatever variation, it is both cruel and oppressive and the Australian government should be applauded for their courage to stand against it.

March 26, 2006 – Critics of the Christian Scriptures and its authenticity are nothing new to believers as some form of cynicism called scholarship rears its ugly head.

Although the epistle of Jude is only one chapter in length and affectionately referred to as a post card when compared to other lengthy epistles it still packs a punch.

The author states in verse 3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you the need of common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Jude goes on in the following verses to explain that there were then as there are today those that have polluted the teaching of the scriptures and been poor examples in their own lifestyles.

The author’s purity of heart is noted in the fact he wrote what the Holy Spirit directed him to write, not what he set out to do.

Second, his declaration of the “faith which was once delivered unto the saints,” is not a piece of legislation to be deleted but G-d’s final authority.

This short passage in the scriptures is small yet so powerful as it sets forth both the authority and revelation of the Holy Spirit and it declares G-d’s authoritative stand.

In these uncertain times, we can rest in the fact that G-d’s word has and will stand the test of time and is our rock that we can cling to regardless.
