ISRAEL UPDATE
July 9, 2006 – As Americans awoke July 4, 1976 to enjoy the bicentennial celebration of their nation’s birth; Israelis were receiving news of a different sort.
The previous night Israeli commandos had flown 2500 miles to Uganda, stormed the Entebbe airport terminal and freed 103 hostages held by a multinational band of terrorists, with minimal losses.
Very few Americans realized the dangers of Israel’s struggle in comparison to what our country would be going through barely a decade later as embassies and military barracks bombings became common news.
The same forces that have sought to destroy the modern Jewish state for sixty years is the same force seeking to eradicate the nation that has stood as a beacon of hope for 230 years.
The sight of the blue and white Star of David and the beauty of Old Glory not only infuriates this group of people, but also stands as the only two resisting forces against their evil wishes.
One of the tragedies of the past 30 years is that most Americans, even Christians, fail to realize that the life and death struggle against Israel is the same as that against America and both nations as well as the world have everything to lose.
July 9, 2006 – While surveying the spiritual and moral decay of Europe noted theologian and reformation leader John Calvin stated, “Earthly princes deprive themselves of all authority when they rise up against G_d.”
Notice, the same year of the 9-11 tragedy one California School District spent three weeks and taxpayers money teaching their students nearly every aspect of Islam, even having the children take Muslim names.
What an ironic trend knowing we are now in our fifth decade of prayer and Bible reading being removed from school, boycotting of the Ten Commandments, seeking to remove “In G_d We Trust” from every facet of life and forbidding the display of Nativity scenes at government buildings.
The liberal voices decry the 2200 deaths of U.S. troops fighting the war on terror yet endorse the holocaust of abortion and run full speed with their support. As every form of sexual perversion is acted out as many are trying to legitimize these acts through government legislation.
Finally, the princes of the world are spiritually eroding every facet of Israel’s security to enemies of the Jewish State, America as well as the Creator of the Universe.
As this hotbed of liberal theology continues to chisel away at the foundation of America, we are losing our influence as a world power and are placing our nation on a collision course with ultimate judgment. Calvin was right both then and now, history is sadly repeating itself.
