ISRAEL UPDATE
August 13, 2006 – Are the trends of Hollywood’s current movies showing us any predictable pattern when it comes to world conflict?
“Executive Decision,” “The Siege,” “Peacemaker,” all showed us the chilling reality of U.S. soil and airspace being attacked by terrorists.
Just in the pat year “Syriana” showed us the connection between oil rich nations and terrorism followed by “Munich” depicting the brutal slaying of innocent athletes at the world’s goodwill games, the Olympics.
“United Flight 53” drove home the harsh reality of the horrific September 11, 2001 debacle and the soon to be released “World Trade Center” will soon follow suit.
These and many others are showing America as a nation, whether we realize it or not, irregardless of the Balkan States, Middle East, Europe or even sovereign U.S. airspace and soil, not one person is exempt from terror attack.
The cold hard fact is that with each of these movies and others fundamental Islam is at the root.
I’m not sure what the exact agenda of “Tinsel Town’s” motives are for this current genre but I do hope people start to realize this is not Israel vs Hezbollah or the U.S. vs al Qaeda but rather Islam against the World and until all realize this our nation and the world will be divided and our enemies will only grow stronger.
August 13, 2006 – As I write this article the state of New Jersey is debating the issue of same sex marriage and 77 million members of the Episcopal Church are being divided over the same issue.
Many of the ordained ministers of this long-standing Protestant denomination are stating that the Old Testament passages opposing this lifestyle as being taken out of context.
One can’t help but question just how many different ways you can look at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah even after being willing to spare an entire metropolis for a handful of people, Genesis 18 & 19.
While Levitical law is very adamant on this on this volatile subject in several passages and most refer to Romans chapter 1 as focal points there is one passage that doesn’t seem to get much attention. As the Apostle Paul exhorts young pastor Timothy he succinctly states anyone desiring the office of a Bishop (Pastor) even an elder must be the husband of one wife, 1 Tim. 3:2.
While most have used this verse relating t the issue of divorce I believe the Holy Spirit is also speaking directly to the issue of same sex marriage. It is crystal clear that a man must be the husband of one wife, period, not husband of another man or woman of woman.
Both the Old and New Testaments are clear on this subject and it is time for people to stop adjusting to current trends and focus on G-d’s word to resolve the questions of life.
