ISRAEL UPDATE

October 1, 2006 – In 1945 ruthless Nazi leader Adolph Eichman boaster, “I will leap into my grave laughing because the feeling that I have 5,000,000 human beings on my conscience is a source of extraordinary satisfaction.”

Fifteen years later Eichman who had so efficiently vanished that most people believed him dead, hung from the gallows built specifically for him. 

Whether it was Adolph Hitler committing suicide in a bomb shelter or Adolph Eichman being brought to justice after a fair trial one principle always stands out.   Both men woke up in eternity having to stand before the creator naked and void of any system or people to help them out of their predicament.

Hebrews 9:27 emphatically states, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”    The accountability of judgment is both personal and independent as we all give an account to G-d for our lives on earth. 

Hitler and Eichman represent the extreme side of evil and even when it appeared they were unstoppable the “Thousand Year Reich” came to an end.    However, even when evil is present there are still good people trying to live right and judgment for those living godly will be glorious.

 

October 1, 2006 – Pakistan’s president Pervez Musharaf has committed his support to President Bush and our nation’s war on terror.  More than likely Musharaf is telling the truth however, the question really is, are the people of Pakistan truly supportive of U.S. policy?

Many Pakistanis, especially those living on the outer edges of their nation especially close to the border of Afghanistan, probably do not share the same sentiments.  Pakistan’s relationship with the United States currently strikes a haunting similarity to the then pro U.S. nation of Iran and Shah Mohamed Reza Pavli.  Even at the pinnacle of secure relations with Iran the Shah told then President Jimmy Carter that regardless of ties between the two nations Muslim control over Jerusalem would be the deciding issue.

Now President Bush faces a similar scenario as his pro western ally has a grass roots movement of fundamental Islam that could seize control at any moment and a nuclear arsenal that would be up for grabs!

Pakistan, like most nations, stands at a crossroads and if swallowed up by fundamental Islam, then that path on the road obviously leads to a collision with the United States especially regarding Israel. 

Lebanon’s democracy is gone, Afghanistan is tenuous at best, Iraq is teetering and Jordan and Egypt  could easily be toppled by Islam.  In essence Israel and the U.S. are becoming surrounded.
