ISRAEL UPDATE

October 15, 2006 – October 15, 2006 begins the celebration of Simchat Torah, rejoicing and thanking G-d for giving His law to Moses and the children of Israel at Mt. Sinai.

Of course, it is always intriguing to me that historically Simchat Torah and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) most times seem to overlap the Muslim month of Ramadan, and the giving of the Koran.

The Ten Commandments, bedrock of the Judeo-Christian belief system of morality, conduct and proper treatment of others, has  since its inception been the stabilizing force for many cultures for millennia.  Yet today, this practical, godly approach to serving G-d and man is one of the most hotly contested and debated articles in every circle of American life.   Coupled with the controversy and removal of the Ten Commandments from every facet of life has also seen the elevation of the Koran.

If Islam has more than one billion adherents and “only” ten percent are considered radical, then Jihad (Holy War) found in the Koran is a fighting aspect against

all that do not embrace Islam.   We as a nation are truly apostate as we bulldoze the Ten Commandments into the ground denying godly attributes and prop up literature that denies all orthodox elements of Christianity this looms on the horizon as a threat to all non Muslim nations and peoples.

October 15, 2006 – Between the war in Iraq, Israel’s war with Hezbollah and Iran’s nuclear threat, not much as been said about the Israeli/Palestinian peace talks.

The world’s leaders seem to have it figured out, just get the radical terror groups Hamas to recognize Israel, dismantle their infrastructure and work in cooperation with Mahmoud Abbas and his P.L.O. factions.  If the P.L.O. and Hamas follow in the footsteps of all of their predecessors, this goal is not just unrealistic but is nothing but pure fantasy.

In the 20th Century there were more than 40 wars or coup de tats and multiple intifadahs (uprisings) from within their own borders excluding Israel.   Egypt using chemical warfare against Yemen in the 1960’s, Palestinians slaughtered by Jordanians during Black September of 1970, the Iran-Iraq war that raged eight years, and the constant clash between Sunnis and Shia’s alone has raged off and on for literally centuries are but a few examples of this fanciful but inept thought process.

Up to this point one of Israel’s greatest advantages has been the division between the “brothers” but as time goes on their hatred for Israel and the west will unite them.   The world’s leaders apparently do not believe the words of Genesis 16:12:

“And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”
