ISRAEL UPDATE

January 21, 2007 – After our nation’s embassy in Tehran was seized in November 1979 our nation declined Israel’s help in a rescue attempt for our hostages.

In the first Gulf War we as a nation restrained Israel from not only defending itself but assisting us, then we again declined her help in the war on terror after September 11, 2001.

So, while I am thrilled to know America is now collaborating with Israeli military and intelligence specialists on a strike to end Iran’s nuclear program, the paradox puzzles me.

Since 1993 America, Britain and other nations have demanded Israel continue to concede land for peace with horrific results.  Yet, our nation and many others could benefit from Israel’s wealth of knowledge attained through it’s brutal war of attrition with terrorists.  But how much has western intervention and policy exacerbated the precarious situation in which the Jewish state has been placed?

Until our western nations decide to unilaterally fight the hideous monster of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism none of us will succeed.

Bully for our nation for taking these steps however, to please G-d and receive His blessing we must befriend and support Israel, not get buddy, buddy just because we are in need.

January 21, 2007 – Listen to the words of the lamenting prophet, “Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth.  For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds.” Hab. 1:4

I will never cease to be amazed at just how much history repeats itself, the more man tries to separate himself from G-d the more enslaved they become and their society is full of ills.

We as Christian are even being pressured from all sides as our society declares its need to have separation of church and state.  What irony that as our nation continues its downward spiral watchdog groups continually try to erase every trace of Christianity from our culture.  In doing this our nations become more perverse, corrupt and needs more and more laws to protect itself from itself.

The transition from a nation that as a majority was godly and seeking to please its creator now defies all of the laws established by the same creator.  Thus, the more we decline and fall away from G-d as a nation the more laws must be put into place, separation from the church means more control of the state.

Trying to escape the “control of G-d” has only left our nation just as the prophet wrote, “powerless law, no justice, the righteous surrounded and perverse judgment proceeds,” only to be followed by G-d’s righteous judgment.
