ISRAEL UPDATE
March 4, 2007 – How intriguing it is to hear the words of some of the most evil people on the face of the earth declare the designs and ambitions that are ungodly, opposed to all that is good and believe they are in control.
I couldn’t help but reflect on past comments made by Vladimir Putin of Russia and Bashar Assad of Syria stating they wanted to become involved in troubled regions of the world i.e. Israel.
As these men and their nations amass weapons, train troops and rationalize their need to be regionally involved what does G_d have to say about it?
Ezekiel 38:4 states, “I will turn you round about, put hooks into your jaws and lead you out with all of your army, horses and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers, shields, all of them handling swords.”
As we read the rest of chapters 38 and 39 we see G_d will draw this evil coalition onto the mountains of Israel where the majority of this force is annihilated and both Israel and the world will see and know the one true living G_d.
While the heathen rage and imagine great things against G_d we the believers rest in the hope of G_d’s word and sovereign plan regardless of one believing they are in control.
March 4, 2007 – The trials, hard knocks and afflictions of life do one of two things, either we are forced to press into G_d or we back away and lose out.
G_d’s plan for man is a concept He plans and desires for us to come into the fullness of power and walk in His grace and then we have fellowship with Him.
However, the concept requires one human element that is us and for that plan to be fulfilled by man’s appropriate response.
Jesus continually warned His disciples of persecution, being hated and the trials that accompany us in life. Yet, one of His greatest promises to His disciples is found in Luke 22:30b, “that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom.” This incredible passage includes not just the concept of what G_d desires to do with each of us but what great promises for us to embrace.
The secret for us is not only endure what comes our way but to sit at the master’s table eating and drinking of all he has for us.
No religious system in the world guarantees life will be easy however, Christ’s provision is greater than all events and circumstances, and this is why we can make it regardless!
