ISRAEL UPDATE
March 18, 2007 – Twenty-two nations of the Arab Summit are gathered again in unison calling for the reinforcement of U.N. resolutions #242 and #338 as it involves Israel.
At the forefront is King Abdullah II of Jordan who boldly declares that Israel needs to rid itself of its “fortress mentality” so it can live in peace and stability with its neighbors.
Abdullah in his visit to Washington last week continued to assert the premise of world economy and stability hinging on Israel/Palestinian relations.
Of course, there would have been no need for either U.N. resolutions #242 and #338 nor the 1967 Middle East War that preceded those resolutions if the very closest of Israel’s neighbors had not attempted to destroy her including Abdullah’s Jordan.
Again, the 1973 Yom Kippur War Between Egypt and Syria, the protracted war in Lebanon 1982 to 2000, all the suicide bombing and terrorists attacks that culminated in the 33 day war in Lebanon this past summer were all provoked by the very nations and people talking the loudest and demanding the most.
Abdullah II’s nation while at peace with Israel allowed Iraq to supply arms and supplies to the Palestinians during the last Intifadah in Israel.
Peace and stability how and when? Certainly not when peace treaties are signed nor summits held. Obviously the Arab leagues plan for peace has not produced for the past 40 years and will not in the future.
March 18, 2007 – It seems that Hollywood has the greatest poetic license when it comes to depicting either Jesus Christ or His followers.
For sixty years there were a great many movies that while not biblically accurate they were not blasphemous. Then came our “age of enlightenment” as “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Godspell,” and “Truth of Truths” came on the scene. Then we transitioned to “The Last Temptation of Christ,” “The Da Vinci Code” and the documentary in which they have suggested that they might have found Jesus’ bones.
Any fundamental Christian finds the concept of these movies and the portrayals as both repulsing and inaccurate at the least.
How many movies have even portrayed the prophet Mohammed as a man that was prone to violent seizures to the point where even those close to him though him to be demon possessed?
Will there ever be a screenplay depicting the less than equitable activities between Hare Krishna and the young milk maidens of his village by his own admission?
Tragically the politically correct culture of modern America is at best both discriminatory and selective when it comes to Christianity and its depiction to the public.
We are not just calling evil good and visa versa today but we Christians are being hated just like they hated our master and the noted Southern California City of Los Angeles proves it in the most visible ways.
