ISRAEL UPDATE

July 1, 2007 – The nation of Lebanon is now in its fourth decade of occupation by Iranian backed Syrian forces and has ceased to be a legitimate democracy.

Hope for a democratic Iraq has realistically ceased as coalition forces battle extremists and in the process the blood of both Shia’ and Sunnis flows in the streets daily.

Israel the only legitimate democracy in the region has been carved up into a mini nation with fundamental Islamic terrorists poised on every side all of which hate democracy especially that of Israel and the U.S.  And the jury is not out yet on Afghanistan, the radicals have not yet been eliminated, and a large portion of the nations is Islamic and does not favor democracy either.

That leaves us Gaza, the area that the democratic process was supposed to stabilize the region as a working model in progress.

The Iranian backed Hamas Parliament although put in place by a pseudo democratic process wars with Fatah daily.  Fatah’s rule of Gaza was the brainchild of the west, however has not functioned democratically nor has the terrorism stopped in any fashion.  Abbas and company have fled to Judea/Samaria due to civil war with Hamas.  So who runs Gaza?

Lebanon ignored, Israel cut up, Afghanistan and Iraq both in question and Gaza has exploded all leaving the question just how bad does the west want democracy and what are they willing to do to ensure it when it is in the face of Islamic presence.

July 1, 2007 – Raising our children also gave us the privilege of also raising rabbits, cats, birds and several dogs along the way, so being an animal lover is not a problem for me, but placing animals above people presents a great difficulty.

I have gown up in the generation where entire industries have been shut down in order to accommodate certain animals and their pristine environments.  Our nations is literally and figuratively held hostage by foreign oil producers as we cannot have access to certain oil rich areas again for the preservation of wildlife.

Confusing is the fact that growing up in school I was taught about the natural selection process and only the strong survive yet see this extreme push to protect these creatures supposedly able to adapt to anything.

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe in preserving nature and animal habitats but at what expense to mankind do we draw the line.

Ahab was said to be the most evil King of Israel and I Kings 18:5 states, “And Ahab had said unto Obadiah, Go into the land to all the springs of water and all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive, so that we will not have to kill any livestock.”  Ahab could have been worried about his people starving but animals took precedence, much like the spotted owls and grey whales in America instead of our unborn children.  Things haven’t changed much.
