ISRAEL UPDATE
September 16, 2007 – Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, began on September 13th this year and is supposed to be a time of celebration and anticipation. While this is true to a certain degree the situation in Israel is tenuous at best as the threat of war with Hezbollah looms on the horizon to the north.
As the scenario plays out there is still the ever present threat of Hamas in Gaza that is hanging over Israel’s head like a swollen balloon ready to burst.
Of course little is said of Judea and Samaria the newest piece of Promised Land up for negotiations which could soon be as problematic as the Gaza and Lebanon.
The Jewish homes in Israel still will be festive, serving traditional meals and desserts and the essence of family will be the focus, however, many seats will be empty as her sons and daughters are pouring over intelligence reports, manning weapons and praying war will not come.
So, as Israel brings in the New Year battling terrorism, America relives the horror of 9-11 and continues to fight the war on terror. Thankfully there are nations and their troops willingly making the sacrifice and a G-d that still watches over His land and His people.
September 16, 2007 – The 9-11 Anniversary has come upon us again and true to form the experts have all come out espousing theories, opinions and prognostications about the war on terror. It could also be stated that even with all of the verbiage we must realize that whatever side of the fence you are on regarding this issue we are still at war with terrorism.
Some say we must stop all military operations and negotiate only, making concessions but this has proved futile with the nations of Israel. The Jewish state has given and given and given only to be pushed into a corner and forced to defend herself.
I have noticed those that are so adamant about not fighting terrorism seem to despise the nation they live in and debase it. Granted America is not perfect and no matter what we do our foreign policy somewhere will be disapproved of. However,
make no mistake, the forces that conceived and implemented the events of one balmy September morning still seek America’s destruction, rest assured they will not stop until they succeed.
Every time I see footage of those airplanes slamming into those building I get sick realizing regardless of what some think we are at war with terror and our nation has never been the same.
