ISRAEL UPDATE

October 14, 2007 – For years now the world powers have attempted to provide a blanket of peace and security that will cover Israel and her neighbors.  However the fabric of this blanket is coming unraveled at every turn and is proving just how unrealistic the expectations of Israel are and the unsafe position she has been placed in.

With American politicians leading the charge we are ready for the next set of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.  The premise of the talks is much like the concept of giving more land and power to the Palestinians.   We as a broker nation lay out ground rules and expectations, however, will not actively participate but look on at a distance.

So when the talks break down due to disagreement or because of a new outbreak of violence no outside party is left holding the bag so to speak.  Very sanitary given the track record of the Palestinians the last decade and a half and their continual abuse and violation of the peace agreements.

The tragedy is that while the Gentile powers of the world are trying to smother Israel to create a pseudo peace their actions are causing G-d to start removing His blanket of protection especially on those nations that once supported Israel.

India and Pakistan still war over Kashmir, Lebanon’s democracy has been destroyed, the Sudan is a modern Rome for Christian’s, Ireland and England could erupt in violence at any time, both Iran and Iraq pose a threat to America, it’s comforting to know that the world wants peace in Israel. 

 

October 14, 2007 – Should the gifts of the Spirit be allowed in today’s church and is it relevant for this modern time or did it cease with the Apostles?

To truly understand what G-d wants to do we must compare it to the past then what would be His future desires.  So when I hear people say “tongues and miracles ceased with the Apostles,” I can’t help but ask some poignant questions.

First, if tongues and miracles did in fact cease with the Apostles, what about all of the other gifts that were given in the same manifestation?

Second, do we not need desperately to have the operation of the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discernment or discerning of spirits given the deception that is so prevalent today?

Third, miracles did not begin with the Apostles they began with the creation of the world and continue, around 4000 hears before the church was born at Pentecost, why stop? 

Malachi 3:6 (NKJ) tells us; “For I am the L-rd, I do not change,” further the scriptures state, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.”  Heb. 18:8 NKJ)

Jesus promised the gifts to the church for their benefit not just to start the church but to help them finish the race until He returns.  The gifts of the Spirit were needed then and they most certainly are needed today!
