ISRAEL UPDATE

July 29, 2001 - One cannot help but be troubled by the media's reporting on the crisis in Israel as they attempt to gain world support for the Palestinian cause.

One young lady interviewed for a news magazine was lamenting her father's disappearance because his life was in danger and had chosen to stay in hiding. The young lady described her father's life as being in peril and worried that he would be killed because of being Palestinian.

Yet, when the young girl identified the father as belonging to Task Force 17, the reporters failed to mention who this group is, or how they operate.

Task Force 17 was created in 1970 in the Syrian-controlled State of Lebanon and its 3500 men are responsible for the protection of Yassir Arafat. Yet this same "security force" has been responsible for the death of 40% of the Israelis killed during the Intifadah (uprising).

Task Force 17 is a terror group within a terror group; their protection of Arafat goes as far as killing and harassing Palestinians as well as Israelis.

Obviously the media failed to see the significance of what Task Force 17 is and would have us believe that this girl's helpless father is the victim of unwarranted Israeli persecution.

If one didn't know better you could swear it is Israel that is the problem in the "Peace Process" and the Palestinians are the victims.

Objectivity and information are not on the media's agenda regarding the Middle East in general, or Israel specifically.

July 29, 2001 - Several weeks ago, I wrote about PA checks bouncing and that Arab countries have put all funds on hold for Arafat because of all the financial indiscretions being discovered.

Arafat's Swiss bank account now totals 20 billion dollars and he is said to be using the money to escape in case of a war with Israel.

This is especially interesting to know when we realize Israel recently gave the Palestinians vaccines for 200,000 people who have developed foot and mouth disease. While Israel has stated that prevention of an epidemic is beneficial to both sides, one cannot help but feel for the Palestinians who still have poor sanitation, inadequate medical services and limited education while their "leader" becomes abundantly prepared for a war he knows is coming.

Arafat is obviously in good shape as he plans on escaping to Iraq in case of hostilities with Israel, but it appears his selfishness will heave his followers broke and severely limited in resources.

Arafat obviously is not operating under the umbrella of Judeo/Christian teachings when it comes to the care and welfare of the needy.

But then again Chairman Arafat does not operate those beliefs and practices as he continues to lie, cheat, steal and murder in the name of nationalism.

This corrupt "shepherd" will be the demise of much of his flock and the PA is headed for a point of no return.
