ISRAEL UPDATE

October 14, 2001 - One of our local newspapers carried a lengthy article on October 6, 2001 describing the problems that are facing Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak as the Islamic world boils.

Egypt, although a Moslem nation, is considered by the fundamentalists to be a secular nation because its government is not the radical, extremist, and as anti western such as Iran, the Sudan and the others.

It is critical to watch Egypt because almost 20 years ago President Anwar Sadat was assassinated by fundamentalists for making peace with Israel and not being extreme.

By definition Mubarak and Egypt are both what could be classified as a "Moderate" in their practice of Islam, but there is a huge groundswell of radical Islamic fundamentalism that has been in Egypt for years.

While the nations of the western world are all being forced to make a decision on where to stand with the multi-nation coalition, suffice it to say, so must the moderate Muslim nations make a decision.

Watch Afghanistan, Pakistan, America, and the key players that are getting noticed, but remember that Egypt is a significant nation in Bible prophecy and G-d's plan.

The events unfolding in Egypt put her in a position to be radically and dramatically changed and no doubt these changes are close. The time is coming when all nations and all peoples must decide where they stand with Israel and
Egypt is no exception.
 

October 14, 2001 - Prophecy can be defined in three manifestations. First there is the initial event, second there are continued events and last there is the final fulfillment of the prophecy.

In 1885 almost a century before the modern day Soviet invasion of Afghanistan a punch cartoon appeared in a periodical showing an international crisis developing. This cartoon showed a bear defined as Russia posturing on his back legs and growling as an angry wolf identified as Afghanistan approaches the bear ready to fight. In the upper right hand corner stood a lion described as Great Britain and a tiger representing India looking on with great interest.

How incredibly relevant to our scenario today knowing the past hundred years England and Russia were both soundly defeated by the Afghans but the same countries are interested today.
The Muslim extremists have said for decades that if they could control England, they could rule the world and no doubt India is watching Pakistan with great anticipation.

And don't forget the Bear of Russia who I believe is still poised ready to attack Israel and no doubt has great interest with all of the events going on in her southeastern region, which is predominately Muslim.

Is it coincidence that prophecy is being fulfilled as history repeats itself, I think not, in fact, history is only reaffirming what G-d has known and planned all along. We are not in the dark.
