ISRAEL UPDATE

November 25, 2001 – On November 19, 2001 President George Bush held a dinner party hosting fifty-three heads of Arab nations in honor of the Muslim holiday Ramadan.  The purpose of the meeting was twofold:

1. To show support for the U.S. policy regarding the bombing of Osama bin Laden forces in Afghanistan.
2. The declaration was made that there can be no state-sponsored terrorism allowed, in order that it might cease.

The networks 30-second sound byte did not mention which of the Arab nations attended, but I must state I am fascinated with the idea that many of them probably are states that do in fact sponsor terrorism.

We would have to eliminate Libya, Sudan, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan right away, because these are considered the extreme Islamic nations.  Then we would have to eliminate Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, who contribute money, logistical support and harbor terrorists being sought for crimes they have committed. These governments even allow terrorist groups to operate headquarters in their nations.

If we were to include the Palestinian Authority, we would see tolerance and support for Saddam Hussein, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizballah, PFLP and DFLP; and know they receive financing for the systematic destruction of Israel, from most, if not all of the above countries.
 

November 25, 2001 – While this dinner party would seem peaceful and a positive step in the right direction, this author must point out a startling parallel to the prophet Daniel’s description of events recorded in Dan 9:24-27.  The essence of this prophecy is that an evil being will come with a peace plan acceptable to all, and then halfway through this contract (covenant), he will break it.

If we follow the prophecy, the seduction and deception of the world will be realized too late and the fate of the Jewish nation will hang in the balance.

Notice, the nations agree with our President; get bin Laden and do not allow state-sponsored terrorism, yet each and every one of these nations have emphatically claimed Israel must cease as a nation.  It would appear that the shadow and parallel to antichrist’s agreement is terrifying to say the least, and is more terrifying when we see the continued loss of support for Israel.

Joshua, a G-dly man, made a covenant with a group of spies he though to be friendly, Joshua 9 tells the story. Because of the covenant made, Israel could not physically defeat them.

The leaders of these nations are shrewd indeed, as they sit at the table of peace with America; they are guaranteeing themselves immunity from any harsh retaliation.

Whether it is compliance or deception, President Bush and our policy makers are showing early signs of making death covenants.  They need our prayers more than ever to have the commitment and faith to do what is right.
