ISRAEL UPDATEDecember 16, 2001 – Isn’t it ironic that Egypt, the most powerful nation of its time, would have been doomed, except that a G-dly Jewish man interpreted the Pharaoh’s dreams and saw a nation saved?
Then again, the pagan soothsayers and wizards could not interpret the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar, but a Jewish man of G-d had the ability, thereby was elevated to a position of prominence. He so ably declared G-d’s Word for not just Babylon, but for generations to come.
Most people do not know the part of American history about a man named Haim Solomon, who gave up his entire personal wealth to help finance America’s War of Independence against Britain.
The allies of both World War I and II were able to defeat the Germans and Axis powers, due to the scientific genius of Chaim Weizman.
While we could name all of the medical and technological advancements that can be attributed to Jews, the point is… G-d always places them in key places during crisis times, to spare not just one, but many nations in the process.
As we head farther into these dark times of the last days, we must look at history and remember G-d, through the Jews, has not only spared nations physically, but also spiritually through the Jewish bloodline.
Gen. 12:1-3 declared all the nations of the earth would be blessed and Micah 5:2 told us from where this blessing would come. We can rest knowing salvation is coming.
December 16, 2001 – In a bold decisive move, President George Bush froze the assets of a non-profit organization called The Holy Land Foundation, a group that supposedly benefits the people of the troubled Middle East. Yet it was nothing more than a front for one of the most notorious terror groups in Israel, Islamic Jihad.
Like the infamous Al Capone-type gangsters and drug dealing cartels hiding behind “storefront” operations, Islamic Jihad and other terror groups can solicit and amass funds, as well as enjoy the liberties of free speech and freedom of the press.
However, it is too bad that this move was not made sooner, since our political leaders have known about these types of “organizations” for years. This is a step in the right direction to conduct the battle of terrorism on American soil and slow down the suicide bombers.
How strange that even last week as U.S. delegates were in Israel trying to bring about peaceful resolutions, the suicide bombing continued, as Arafat held meetings with Hizballah leaders allowing them to open up their struggle against Israel on her eastern and western borders, as well as the north.
So much for the true motivation of Arafat and his desire to please the U.S. and honor our wishes, so we must continue to pray for our leaders to see, hear and act according to G-d’s wishes.
