ISRAEL UPDATE

August 25, 2002 – On August 19, 2002, one of our local newspapers carried a headline stating, “43%of scanning prices are inaccurate”.

This needs two responses – First, this could be considered a slap in the face of the consumer who has trusted “scanning accuracy”.

Second, it is frightening to realize that we are in an age where technology can alter prices so easily, along with having the ability to alter financial statements, credit reports and social security identifications, or any record that is stored electronically.

Then we review all of the allegations of insider trading, misuse of information in today’s mega-corporations, and the flood of reports of corruption and abuse.  This has left many people penniless – with little hope for the future.

These patterns clearly show us that we are now set in place for an international monetary system – with a ruler who will need to “fix” everything for the entire world.

People today are screaming for moral ethics and integrity in leadership, but they will at first revere that man of sin, the son of perdition.  II Thess 2:3

Yet with all this, we must realize as believers that Jesus must return to this earth and set up His Kingdom of righteousness – because the man-made systems of government and finance have never done right, nor lasted for any length of time.  “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the L-RD of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:7.  Even so, come L-rd Jesus…

August 25, 2002 – Is Saddam Hussein the evil one, or should we look for another?

During the Gulf Crisis of 1990-91, the world was told that this man and his nation were the biggest threat around – therefore they needed to be put out of existence – yet after the short battle, he remained in power.

During the time since this battle, Egypt continually teeters on the brink of an Islamic fundamentalist takeover, and both Syria and Jordan now have new monarchs with less Western loyalty than their predecessors.

Syria, although unable to field an army of men and materials, has a larger supply of chemical and biological weaponry than does Iraq.

King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Crown prince of Saudi Arabia have pushed for a renewed peace initiative with Israel – and they are accepted because they are considered “moderates”.

Saddam Hussein is capable of anything.  But do you remember prior to Desert Storm, - he promised the world “the mother of all wars” – yet coalition forces met with minimal resistance?

It was only after the war when many U.S. troops returned with strange physical ailments that we realized how Iraq fought this war.

Iraq and Hussein pose a threat of distracting us away from Israel, and because he is so pro-Arafat, he is dangerous to both Israel and the United States.  But the real problem lies with Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Iran and Saudi Arabia, as they are the “force behind the force”, not just of Iraq, but the al-Queida terrorists as well.
