ISRAEL UPDATE

September 1, 2002 - Our local newspaper carried an article on August 25, 2002, wanting the world to sympathize with the nation of Jordan for being located physically between Israel and Iraq.

But Jordan's proximity between these two warring nations extends far beyond the physical realm that this newspaper article would lead us to believe.

Jordan's deceased monarch, King Hussein, aligned himself with Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, thus choosing to alienate himself and his country from America and Israel.

Now that Abdallah II is in power, the situation should become more intensified - since he is one who doesn't have the allegiance to the West that his predecessor had.

Second, he has been not just sympathetic to Arafat and the PLO, but supportive as well and that loyalty puts him in direct alliance with the Iraqi dictator.

Since many Middle East analysts were worried about this possibility before Abdallah II ever took office, they obviously are more concerned now about the scary possibilities of Jordan's foreign policy.

From a Biblical standpoint, we need to feel bad about the stance of Jordan against Israel - this puts them in direct opposition to G-d's plan, His nation, and His people.  Genesis 12:1-3

Jordan may not be able to help their physical location, but there is no doubt that their anti-West, anti-Israel position is one of choice - their practice and belief is certainly not in line with G-d's word or plan.

September 1, 2002 - We are now seeing that the enemies of Israel are the enemies of the United States - making the Middle East scenario that much more of a volatile situation.

The Saudi government arrested 13 al-Qaeda suspects several months ago, but they have not given the United States intelligence community a thing to go on.

Iran released 16 al-Qaeda members to the Saudi government - again, with no information being turned over to America.

Apparently the Saudis don't want their cooperation with Osama bin Laden to be made public, thus removing one more layer of the "moderate " facade of the Riyadh government.

It is believed 15 of the 19 hijackers of the planes used on 9-11 were Saudi citizens – plus it is known that they are funding the Salafi Islamic Ideological Schools in Pakistan, who teach hatred of the West and influence many Taliban and al-Qaeda recruits.

As I continue to write these articles, it is not hard to see that the Saudis are involved in terrorist activities - from logistics to finance and from propaganda to foot soldiers.

All of this for 17% of the U.S. oil supply, the warning not to attack Iraq, and a staunch hatred for Israel. . .  It only goes to show that the Saudi regime only spells big trouble for America on the horizon.

To be continued . . .
