ISRAEL UPDATE

September 15, 2002 - The world sat in shock as they watched the horror of 11 Israeli athletes that were brutally murdered at the Munich Olympic Games on September 5, 1972.

We all were mesmerized by the fact that the war between Arabs and Jews had now circumvented airline hijackings and the battlefield - now reaching into the athletic and civilian arenas with impunity.

In the weeks, months and years that followed, the rogue terrorists that accomplished this heinous act branched out to killing U.S. ambassadors and their assistants in foreign countries.

After that, we as Americans saw and felt the sting of 243 Marines killed in Beirut barracks and our embassies being attacked around the world.

But these attacks were sporadic when compared to the continual battle Israel was waging against terrorism.

Yet as we have just passed the 30th anniversary of the Munich massacre, we also have observed the 1st anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The Munich attack was aimed at Israel and violated all concepts of warfare - but so did the events of 9-11. . .

These events should be the common bond that unites Israel and America, not paralyze them in the name of a bogus peace initiative.

September 15, 2002 - G-d is not dead - He is patient – and He will not be mocked by men who refuse to heed His call, or change their ways.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote in Retribution:
“Though the mills of G-d grind slowly,
Yet they grind exceedingly small.
Though with patience He stands waiting,
With exactness He grinds us all.

Longfellow understood something here that many people would miss - G-d's timing is not ours and He will do in time what must be done.

As the world seems out of control - like a train heading toward a ravine with a washed-out bridge, G-d is still in control.

The prophet wrote, "The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again." Isaiah 24:20

Knowing G-d's word and reading Longfellow's assessment, it would appear men and nations have one of two choices.

Continue on in ways that don't please G-d and reap the consequences, or submit to G-d's plan and will for our lives and feel His power and blessing.

Everything that happens in our life either will drive us to our knees, or we will bow at the judgement seat of Christ.  Judgement will come, and we will be rewarded or condemned - thus the call of G-d still goes out to all. . .

To be continued . . .
