ISRAEL UPDATEDecember 8, 2002 – On November 29, 2002, a jet airliner filled with 271 Israeli passengers and crew barely avoids tragedy, as two surface-to-air, shoulder-held missiles missed the plane without incident.
But the Paradise Hotel became a scene of carnage and death as a four-wheel drive vehicle is driven into the lobby, killing 12 people.
One militant group claims they did the attack to "strike at Israeli interests" on the eve of the November 29, 1947 anniversary of the United Nations decision to partition an Arab and Jewish section of what was then inappropriately called Palestine.
In 1998, the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were attacked by terrorists, killing 231, including 12 Americans, and wounding more than 5000.
If we know the true motivation of these fundamentalists, we see them doing one thing - that is… drawing the noose around Israel and her allies even tighter, as Kenya and the United States have been for a long time.
Rest assured that in the very near future you are going to hear the "moderates", who have yet to condemn these heinous acts - tell America to stop supporting Israel and this will all end.
But whether it is embassies, naval vessels such as the U.S.S. Cole, the World Trade Center, or hotels filled with tourists, America and the rest of world are being pulled into a valley of decision regarding the Jewish state. But even now it appears neither Jew nor Christian, Israel, America, or Kenya is safe from the reach of Islamic fundamentalist terrorists.
December 8, 2002 - Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel 2:30-45, the prophet defines four major kingdoms that would rise to power - only to succumb and fall to another.
Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome were all empires that exhibited wealth, culture, and military might – seemingly able to prosper at every turn in the road.
Yet each of these kingdoms exhibited the lowest depths of moral depravity, oppression, pagan idolatry, and excessive taxation.
At the pinnacle of success each empire was very complacent - they felt like nothing in the world should and could bother them - or disrupt their grand schemes.
But as G-d looked down at each of these situations, He obviously became weary of their transgressions and intervened as they defied His moral laws, and as they practiced cruelty upon the believers in the one true G-d.
The words of Jesus ring out loud and clear as we watch much of this same thing unfolding today - right in front of our eyes. Matthew 25:32 tells us, "And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:”
America and all the other nations are going to answer to G-d for their treatment of Israel, the Church and their overall conduct, which will be a frightening prospect to say the least - one not to be envied – unless first there comes a change…
