ISRAEL UPDATE

July 20, 2008 – While people try to define the conflict between Israel and her neighbors as a basic sibling rivalry and religious conflicts, the schoolbooks utilized in nations such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority teach children not just stereotyped hatred but also the weapons in which to eliminate the threat.

You will not find textbooks like that on the Israeli side, in fact, the only term allowed to be used in their military training is “enemy” to stay away from racial slurs.

During both Intifadahs we saw families willingly allow their children to be used as human shields to become martyrs for the cause.  Even the cries from the minarets of the Mosques and from their pulpits teach nothing but hatred and eradication of all that do not believe in Allah.

Ironic that many young Israelis today are choosing to be incarcerated rather than take up a weapon and fight against their neighbors, let alone become suicide bombers.

It’s true, in pre statehood and since Israel’s rebirth there have been small groups or individuals that have acted independently in violent nature but they are not part and parcel of Israeli culture as a whole.

As peace talks continue I can’t help but wonder how the world keeps demanding change from the Israelis but does not want to hold the other side accountable and there will always be a deficit.

July 20, 2008 – The war on terror that raged between England and Ireland was about religion but it included issues over security of borders.

Likewise the same has been true in Israel as terrorists from Palestinian controlled areas of neighboring nations continue to be a deadly dynamic of life within the Jewish State.

Al-Qaeda and Taliban insurgents are operating areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan threatening the democratic process and peace as insurgents are doing the same in Iraq as well.

However, in Europe the borders are nonexistent; travel is open and a great part of the world has become very universal, the exact opposite of the troubled regions previously mentioned.

In an area of open borders, free trade, and an economy based on one currency we can see what the Bible has referred to as events that would lead to the appearance of the anti-Christ.

Second the turbulence between warlords and tribes such as Saudi and Afghanistan, the Arab-Israeli conflict, crisis in the Balkans or the U.K. again we see prophetic fulfillment.

Luke 21:10a tells us, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom,” defining ethnic struggles are part of the end times thus whether it is war and border disputes or open borders and free trade we are exactly where the prophetic clock is winding down to the end.  Even so come L-rd Jesus!
